My first book from Frieda hits hard/ Job hunt

coffee and the inmate book I'm invested in a serious job hunt lately, and travelled into town last week. Of course I got nervous and felt like visiting that weird little shop that sells toys, craft material, diaries and books for children and adult. Books have a weird superpower over me.

To stop myself from shaking, I planned to look at the latest books in this shop where... oh well I haven't there since I escaped the country for recovery.

I've been eyeing with Freida McFadden's books on the shelf for a while now, but I wasn't adventurous enough to actually buy one of her books until a few days ago. I saw the title "The Inmate" and I grabbed it in a split second. According to the blurb it was just the one for me.

The shop also had this friendly discount: 3 books for 7.50. That's basically stealing legally. Truth is, it wasn't my intention to actually buy a book, but leaving it behind would upset me in such a vulnerable position so I picked up two further books about crime and forensic investigation and dropped them casually on the counter with Freida's book on top. The cashier started asking whether I wanted a bag, confidently then her voice lowered as she picked up the book on the top and saw the one underneath. It's not like I'm the only one in town reading a book about murder, right?

By the end, it had proved to be a bit of a stretch to drag 3 books around town all day. My muscles were aching by the end of the day, but hell it was worth it!

I immediately sat down with The Inmate, and I love it so far. It's exciting to find a book that I can't put down. It's such a page turner. And Shane somehow... was him. I imagined Shane looks like him and I myself as Brooke. This made the whole book more exciting and engaging. I'll probably write a random note about it.
