Teams getting in the way of employment (?)
Applied for this job. I apply every once in a while. I believe my persistence will land me this desired job one day. It'd look pretty badass on my CV anyway. They reached out to me surprisingly soon this time. Almost too soon. If it were a thriller, I would say; suspiciously soon.
But they want an interview, which would normally be a pretty good thing except they want the interview through Teams. I'm contemplating.
Do they actually take me seriously here? I mean, how do they feel the presence of a person through a laptop screen?
I'd written a separate CV just for this job, and reached out personally through an e-mail long enough to be called reasonable but short enough to be consumable. So You can really tell that I WANT this job.. and that I'm not just applying through a job search website.
But I'm reluctant to respond to this interview idea. I've got the time, and I really want to talk to them, but not through a teams call. I don't think my time is valued here. They don't seem to be interested in who's doing that job at all. So talking to them and not getting it would be even more annoying.
Okay I'm also very clumsy through digital communication. Like imagine sitting in your own princessy bedroom with your inappropriate items around you. They can see your books or plushies. How could they take me seriously? Then again, on a teams call I keep just checking my face and try to look good. Scanning the room for anything I don't want them to see. Then there is this cute photo on my desk; my dad is sniffing on a white rose. How could I enter a different headspace with this variety of distractions?
